Press release

Season’s Greetings 2011!

On behalf of the entire team at Sofradir, I would like to wish you all a very happy and promising New Year. We hope 2011 will open up new horizons and bring you, your colleagues and families the best in everything that you undertake.

Although several major military programs were postponed in 2010 causing an initial setback in parts of the industry, business at Sofradir moved forward. Increased activity in the IR sector resulted in a very positive year for sales at Sofradir. Other highlights at Sofradir included the launch of three best-in-class products that offer innovation in multispectral imaging, digital output and large format arrays. In addition, we delivered over 25 flight models to space programs, a rate 10 times higher than in previous years. This is a unique achievement among IR detector manufacturers and a real credit in the design and production of our space-based IR sensors. While we are delighted with these accomplishments, we remain cognizant of the passing away of a key member of the international IR community, our colleague and personal friend, Philippe Tribolet. Philippe spearheaded many developments in IR technology for close to three decades. He will remain a constant in our thoughts, as we carry his legacy and vision forward.

2011 will be another challenging and exciting year. Market activity in space applications will stay at a high level and we are foreseeing significant growth in the military sector. We will remain at the forefront in the space domain and continue to bring competitive advantages to our prime contractors and space agency customers. On the military side, we will be extending our technology and product portfolios for advanced applications.

All of us at Sofradir are eager to work with you to create new innovative solutions for your systems. May 2011 be truly successful for everyone.
